-----------Soon after my discharge, I was fortunate enough to get a job at a metallurgic engineering Company where we manufactured alloys and cladded metals for the semiconductor industry, as well as for the US Government's Department of Defense, and Space program. I worked in the Research and Development, and because of the nature of classified products we did for the government, most of us had to be cleared by the FBI.
I had stayed with "Alloys Unlimited" until they were bought by a British Communications giant Corporation called "Plessey Inc" and they relocated to Melville Long Island NY. It was at Alloys Unlimited where I had met "Helen Vallianos"(my second wife).
She was the boss's secretary, and we used to eat lunch together, and to get better acquainted, four months later, ..we decided to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner together also. We got married in July 62, and bought a house in Centereach LI.
--Helen and I had two children. Stephen born on Feb 21st 1966, and Christine, born on July 9th 67. "Incompatibility of temperament" was the grounds for our divorce in 1973, and we had both remarried since. I had stayed with "Plessey Inc." until the mother Corporation in England had decided to make some major changes, and had eliminated the "Melville" acquisition where I was employed at. However, the Operations Manager, had created his own corporation with basically manufacturing the same products, and I was asked to remain on board along with some of the old crew. Our new "home" was called Clad Metal Specialties and it was located in Bayshore LI. We had also maintained most of the old Plessey accounts including most of the Government contracts.
--In 1974 Connie Margaret came in my life...and my short biographical in another page describes the rest. I had remained with CMS until my retirement in 1995.
--This was a short synopsis of some excerpts of my life. I have absolutely no regrets of the things that went "wrong", because I
strongly believe that we make our own "reality", and we need adversity to learn and "grow" from. We are-I believe- both the producers and the directors of our reality. The mind presents us with a "movie" while we are awake, and while we're asleep.
This "movie" appears on our view screen of awareness. In our waking state we call this movie "reality"...in our sleeping state
we call it "a dream", ..but both movies are a presentation of our mind on the view screen of our awareness. I had encountered some turbulence in my earlier life -like I'm sure we all do at one time or other-but that helped me "grow", and made me recognize who I am and why it is important for me to be in peace and harmony with my higher self, and realize that,... what life is really all about is ...LOVE. Nothing else. Just pure unadulterated and unconditional love for one's self, and for others. So...when the final curtain falls, I want to go where that source of LOVE is and merge with it.
It will be in that bright light,... at the end of the tunnel. |
